The Direct Sale Process at Houlux

At Houlux, we offer a direct purchase service for a carefully selected range of luxury items. Direct purchase is not offered for every bag, only for certain pieces that meet our selection criteria. We will assess your item and, if eligible, provide you with a purchase offer or consignment.

Unlike consignment, where you receive payment after your item has been sold to a buyer, a direct sale means that Houlux purchases your item directly from you at an agreed price. This allows you to sell your bag without waiting for a final customer sale.

Please note, however, that payment is not transferred immediately upon delivery. Every item must first undergo our authentication process, followed by the necessary bank processing procedures. The entire process can take up to 10 additional days after your bag has been delivered to our showroom.

1. Contact and Initial Valuation

To begin, simply send us photographs of your bag via WhatsApp at +33 6 99 04 93 02 or through our online form (Sell Your Item).

Please include the following information:

• Brand

• Model

• Size

• Colour

• General condition

• Year of purchase, if known

• Availability of the original invoice, box, dust bag and other accessories

Our team will review the information and assess whether your item qualifies for direct purchase.

If your bag meets our selection criteria, we will provide you with a purchase offer based on its condition, authenticity documentation and current market value.

A negotiation of the proposed price may be possible depending on the item and the circumstances.

2. Acceptance of the Purchase Offer

If you are happy with our offer, our team will guide you through the next steps.

Unlike our consignment service, a direct sale does not require you to wait for a customer to purchase your bag. Instead, Houlux intends to purchase the item directly from you, subject to the required verification and completion of the transaction.

3. Preparation of the Purchase Documentation

To prepare the necessary contract, we will require the following information:

• Full name and surname

• Email address

• Telephone number

• Full postal address

• Bank details (IBAN and BIC)

• Copy of a valid identity document

Please ensure that the bank account details correspond to the name stated in the purchase documentation and that the account holder's information is accurate.

These details are required to prepare the transaction documentation and arrange the bank transfer once the necessary checks have been completed.

4. Delivery of Your Bag

Once the purchase arrangements have been agreed upon, you can arrange to deliver your bag to our Paris showroom.

For a convenient and secure shipment, we can create you free of charge a fully insured DHL Express shipping label.

To prepare the shipping label, we will need:

• The weight of the parcel

• The dimensions of the parcel

You may also arrange to bring us your bag to our showroom in person; please therefore arrange the appointment with our team.

Please ensure that the bag is securely packaged and that all agreed accessories and accompanying documentation are included.

5. Receipt and Authentication

Upon arrival at our showroom, your bag will undergo our authentication and inspection process before the purchase can be finalised.

This includes:

• A careful inspection of the bag and its condition

• Verification of the item's authenticity through our internal authentication process and additionally by an expert authorised by the Paris Court of Appeal

• Confirmation that the item corresponds to the information and condition agreed upon during the initial assessment

This stage is essential to ensure that every item purchased by Houlux meets our standards.

The agreed purchase price is not transferred immediately upon delivery. The bag must first pass the required authentication checks. Payment is then subject to the additional bank processing procedures.

The time required may vary depending on the item and the verification process. Please allow up to 10 additional days after delivery of your bag to our showroom for the authentication and subsequent payment process.

We recommend taking this timeframe into account when planning your sale.

6. Security and Handling

Throughout the period during which your bag is held by Houlux for inspection and completion of the purchase, we take care to ensure that it is handled and stored appropriately and fully insured.

7. Confirmation and Payment

Once the authentication process has been completed and the necessary checks have been finalised, we will proceed with the payment process in accordance with the agreed purchase terms.

The payment is made by bank transfer to the account provided in your purchase documentation.

Our team will remain available throughout the process should you have any questions regarding the status of your transaction.

A Personalised Service for Selected Pieces

At Houlux, we understand that every luxury item is unique. Our direct purchase service is therefore reserved for selected pieces that meet our criteria and current purchasing needs.

If your item is not eligible for direct purchase, our team may be able to offer you our consignment service as an alternative. Under this arrangement, we manage the selling process on your behalf and pay you once the item has been sold, in accordance with the conditions of the consignment contract.
